Canadian Interviews: JULY 2010

Canadian Interviews Publishing is a company dedicated to examining politics and culture in Canada. Our goal is to offer many perspectives on the public life of the country through in-depth interviews with academics, businesspeople, politicians, professionals, artists, athletes, and activists.

This month we are happy to introduce a new spot on the home page, a ‘chronicle’ written by Six Shooter Records artist Melissa McClelland. Keep up with Melissa this summer as she relates her experiences on the Lilith concert tour!

As far as new interviews this month, it is an eclectic mix as always. Read up on Justin Rutledge and his most recent record, The Early Widows. Another feature is with Jace Lasek of The Besnard Lakes, a band shortlisted for the Polaris Prize for their tremendous album called The Besnard Lakes are the Roaring Night. Also David Foy and Jennifer Saleik, two artists from Calgary who work in tandem as ‘Dave and Jenn’, offer insight into their imaginative landscape paintings.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summertime!

Sincerely,

Andrew Gunn,
